Masters & Autumn Events 2023 Finals

The finals of our Masters (Vets) & Autumn Events take place this Friday 10th and Saturday 11th November.

One final, The Whelan Cup - Husband & Wife final will be played on Thursday 9th November at 8pm with Pauline & Stephen Loughney playing Barbara & Darrell Reamsbottom.  

FInals on Friday night start at 7pm and the bar will be open.   The presentation of prizes for the friday night matches will take place on Friday evening when the matches are finished

On Saturday there are two sessions at 3pm & 5pm and the presentation of prizes will take place when the 5pm matches have been played

All members are welcome to come and support our players in our last tournament finals of 2023

Winter League sign up

Winter League starts on Sunday 21st January and the round robin stage runs for 5 weeks on the following dates:

Jan 21st, 28th, Feb 11th, 18th, 25th

DLTC Winter League is for Senior Sports, Intermediate & Senior Intermediate members. Junior players aged 14yrs + on 31 December 2023 are also eligible to play.

This is a competitive interclub doubles league with 6 players on a team.

Matches are played in Sutton LTC or away in other clubs on the date and time on the schedule which is published by DLTC.

Mens Matches - Sundays 11am & 9.20am

Womens Matches - Sundays 2pm & 3pm

Players should be available for 4 out of 5 round robin matches. Players not named on a team will be registered as a substitute.

Teams are selected in order of merit and SLTC have teams from Class 1 - Class 7 in both mens & ladies winter league.

Northside Cup

Sutton sent 11 under 12 juniors to Castleknock for the Northside Cup this week. The event was made up of ourselves, Castleknock, Malahide and Clontarf. Our kids got over 4 hrs of tennis and some valuable match experience

Junior Opens

Well done to Emma Hickey who made the main draw in Tennis Europe event in DCU. After qualifying Emma lost a close match to strong player from the UK.

Courts & equipment on court

Please see the hooks now provided for our clay court drag mats. Please leave them on the hooks after use to protect the bristles. 

If any member notices any issues with the courts ie broken net bands etc please report the fault to the office and it will be repaired.

New Irish Squash Policy on playing squash and understanding the rules:

To enhance player safety and enjoyment it is Irish Squash policy to recommend to all squash players that they have a sufficient level of understanding of the Rules of Squash that they would achieve a WSO Level 0 qualification. For those who play competitively it is recommended that they achieve a Level 1 WSO qualification.

Body Transformation

The last body transformation of 2023 begins on Monday 6th November.

Our 7am body transformation group has 1 space left. The sessions are on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays and will run for 6 weeks. Anyone wanting to sign up for the last space can email gym@suttonltc.com
