Summer League Ends

DLTC Summer league has now finished for all SLTC teams. The mens 2nd team in Class 3 captained by Ray Conboy lost out to a very strong Clontarf 2nd team in their quarter-final.

Sincere thanks to  the volunteer Captains of our 13 league teams and to all the players who committed to represent their club over the last 7 weeks.  Thank you also to the subs who stepped in, often at short notice, to ensure that teams were fielded each week.

Court Requirements for DLTC Finals 29 June

All courts required from 9am - 6pm

We are delighted to be chosen to host DLTC Summer League finals on Saturday 29th June.    This is an opportunity for Sutton LTC to show their appreciation to the volunteers on the Dublin Lawn Tennis Council on behalf of our senior and junior players who represent Sutton in the various leagues throughout the year.    

Tennis court booking

As the courts are getting busier with the summer season,  we ask players who book courts and cannot avail of their booking to cancel on the system.  This allows other members to book the cancelled court.  Thank you for your cooperation

Summer Handicaps Open for Entry

Entry for the Summer Handicaps for members  is open online on ti.tournamentsoftware.com.   Entry will remain open until Friday 19th July.    Finals will take place on our At Home day in September along with the finals of our Senior Club Championships.

For Intermediate & Senior Sports members 

There is no entry fee being charged for the Summer Handicaps this year as announced by our Captains, Susan Bracken and Conor McAvoy at the start of their captaincy

There are five events in this tournament: Mens Singles and Doubles, Ladies Singles and Doubles and Mixed Doubles.

Handicaps will be assigned to the players by the Tennis Committee and players organise their own matches up to and including semi-finals   Finals will be scheduled.   Click on the link below to entry

Junior Team Tennis

Our coaches are going to be the team managers! They'll be encouraging all their team to get their matches played and the losing coaches get soaked by the other teams on finals day!

Matches are arranged in your time. Players will get 5 matches along with a Pizza party and prizes for the winning team on June 28th.

Tennis Camps

Week 1 from July 1st to 5th starting to fill up. Our last week of Aug 19th - 23rd is nearly full already!

Our tennis camps are now live on smartclubcloud.com The Camps are open to members and non members aged 5 to 12. All levels can join. Non members can try tennis for the week and see if they like it. 

Camps run 9am - 1pm each day and are led by our professional coaches from Sutton LTC.

Junior Summer Programme 2024

We are really pleased to announce our Junior Summer Tennis programme is up and running since Monday 24th June

Ciaran McCarthy is our Junior Steward for the summer and the programme  will run every afternoon Monday-Friday  for the whole Summer with tennis activities for all ages

Summer Training for Tournament level players

We will also be offering training for players who are competing in Junior opens this summer. 

Our Pre East of Ireland Camp is now open to sign up on www.smartclubcloud.com

It runs from July 8th - 12th. 2pm - 5pm each day. You will need to add you name to the waiting list for camp and then Rob will add you if you are of the appropriate level. Players in camp must be competing in the East of Ireland or in similar events outside the club.

We have some changes to our senior competition calendar this year. All your favorite comps are still there but note the dates now of the handicaps and the masters. In particular we are bringing the masters events into the warmer part of the year so all that great tennis will be played in warm sunshine now!

Update your Tournament Software Account

As our busy tennis calendar gets underway we are asking players and parents/guardians of our junior players  to log into their ti.tournament software accounts and check that all details ie Club, email address and mobile numbers are up-to-date.

In particular, please ensure that your mobile number is in the mobile number field in your account.  This will ensure that you will receive text updates during tournaments when necessary.

To change Club on your account please email info@tennisireland.ie to request a change to Sutton LTC from your previous club

Please see the hooks now provided for our clay court drag mats. Please leave them on the hooks after use to protect the bristles. 

If any member notices any issues with the courts ie broken net bands etc please report the fault to the office and it will be repaired.

SAM WINS IN WARWICK

Sam Buckley played superb squash to beat his opponent Sam Osborne Wilde 3/1 in the final of the University of Warwick Squash PSA Open 2024. 

Well done Sam!!!

Breanne was runner up in her final in Gibraltar. 

Great weekend for both Sutton PSA players who gained valuable points on the Professional Squash Association (PSA) rankings. Breanne will start another event this week in the BERKHAMSTED LINKSAP OPEN 2024 in England.

No Under 16's in The Gym

Over the past number of weeks we have had to remove several under age members from the gym. No club members under 16 can use the gym without permission.
