Junior Team Tennis

Teams and groups are now up in the Junior Room! Fill in scores on round robin sheets. 90 players signed up!

Our coaches are going to be the team managers! They'll be encouraging all their team to get their matches played and the losing coaches get soaked by the other teams on finals day!

Matches are arranged in your time. Players will get 5 matches along with a Pizza party and prizes for the winning team on June 28th.

Senior Opens

Well done to Tanya Murtagh who won the Tour 1000 doubles event at the Naas Senior Open. Tanya teamed up with Naas player Grainne O’ Neill to take the title. Great win!

ITF MT 200 Masters Irish Open 2024

Congratulations to Tom Barry, Carmel O Hare and Una McEntee who won Irish Open titles in the Irish Masters Open which was played over the bank holiday weekend in Elm Park LTC

Tom won the O.65yrs Mens Singles & Mens Doubles events and Carmel & Una won the O.55yrs Ladies Doubles events

DLTC Summer League Round Up

Week 4 of summer league for Classes 2 - 7 has finished with our mens and ladies teams still in contention to reach the play-off stages.

The Ladies 2nd Team in Class 2 (Captain Barbara Reamsbottom) and the Ladies 3rd Team in Class 3 (Captain Lorraine Wormald) are currently in 2nd position in their respective groups.  

The Mens teams are also performing strongly with the Mens 4th Team in Class 5 (Captain Bruno Haas)  in 1st position in their group.  The Mens 2nd Team in Class 3 (Captain Ray Conboy), Mens 3rd Team in Class 4 (Captain Dave Roche) are in 2nd position in their groups.  

Best of luck to all team captains and their teams in their remaining matches.

Tennis Camps

Week 1 from July 1st to 5th starting to fill up. Our last week of Aug 19th - 23rd is nearly full already!

Our tennis camps are now live on smartclubcloud.com The Camps are open to members and non members aged 5 to 12. All levels can join. Non members can try tennis for the week and see if they like it. 

Camps run 9am - 1pm each day and are led by our professional coaches from Sutton LTC.

Junior Summer Programme 2024

We are really pleased to announce our Junior Summer Tennis programme is live and ready to sign up for on SmartClub Cloud now!! 

Ciaran McCarthy is our Junior Steward for the summer and the programme will start on 24th June and will run every afternoon for the whole Summer

Summer Training for Tournament level players

We will also be offering training for players who are competing in Junior opens this summer. 

Our Pre East of Ireland Camp is now open to sign up on www.smartclubcloud.com

It runs from July 8th - 12th. 2pm - 5pm each day. You will need to add you name to the waiting list for camp and then Rob will add you if you are of the appropriate level. Players in camp must be competing in the East of Ireland or in similar events outside the club.

O80 Super Masters team event

A Super Masters team event for O80yrs Men took place in Glenageary LTC last week and Sutton LTC were represented by Terry Donaghue, Sean O Dwyer and Joe Walsh

This is event was part of a series of events for Veterans organised by Michael Butler, Sandycove LTC

Junior Opens

Great weekend for our Juniors again. Two titles for the Sutton girls! Mia Maselsky won the Girls U12 Tour 200 event at the Rathgar Junior Open. Mae Murphy was the champion of the Tour 100 also in Rathgar.

Jacques McHugh was 3rd in the U14 Tour 200 with Lucy Cahir also 3rd in the girls U14s. Conor Reamsbottom was 5th in the Boys 12s.

Emma Hickey had a quarter final at the St. Annes Tour 1000 event in the U14s.

Senior Tennis Calendar 2024

We have some changes to our senior competition calendar this year. All your favorite comps are still there but note the dates now of the handicaps and the masters. In particular we are bringing the masters events into the warmer part of the year so all that great tennis will be played in warm sunshine now!

Update your Tournament Software Account

As our busy tennis calendar gets underway we are asking players and parents/guardians of our junior players  to log into their ti.tournament software accounts and check that all details ie Club, email address and mobile numbers are up-to-date.

In particular, please ensure that your mobile number is in the mobile number field in your account.  This will ensure that you will receive text updates during tournaments when necessary.

To change Club on your account please email info@tennisireland.ie to request a change to Sutton LTC from your previous club

Ladies Wednesday Morning Time Tennis 

Ladies Time Tennis resumes next Wednesday 10th April and is moving back to its original time of 10am -12noon

All ladies welcome and we hope to see lots of new faces, especially new members during February

Courts & equipment on court

Please see the hooks now provided for our clay court drag mats. Please leave them on the hooks after use to protect the bristles. 

If any member notices any issues with the courts ie broken net bands etc please report the fault to the office and it will be repaired.

The Squash courts have undergone essential maintenance this week including floor sanding to remove black marks.

These marks are made in 2 ways. BLACK SOLED SHOES and OLD GRIPS

[1] Black Soled Shoes are not allowed on the Squash Courts under any circumstances. This includes NON MARKING SOLES. Please never wear shoes with Black Soles on the courts. This rule is for Seniors and Juniors.

[2] Rackets with old grips especially Black Grips will shed and fall on the floor and it is impossible to wash these marks off and sanding is required. If you are unsure drop into Suzanne or Eoin and they will advise you.
