Entry open now! We have been running Junior Team Tennis for nearly 15 years and it’s always a brilliant event. Juniors of any level aged 7 - 17 can join. You will only play matches vs players similar level but you are part of a team with boys and girls of all ages. Every game you win goes to you team's total score

Our coaches are going to be the team managers! They'll be encouraging all their team to get their matches played and the losing coaches get soaked by the other teams on finals day!

Matches are arranged in your time. Players will get 5 matches along with a Pizza party and prizes for the winning team on June 28th.

All-Ireland Masters Inter-club Championships 2024.

The above is a league run by a volunteer, Michael Butler of Sandycove LTC  and SLTC is happy to support our veteran players who take part.  We have received the following report Sean O Dwyer on the final day in Castleknock 

“Sutton qualified for the finals outing at Castleknock, on Tuesday 28th May,  due to the fact that we fielded teams in each of the three age-groups for the Dublin & District leagues.

Over-all we faced an uphill battle but our Over 80s pair, Joe Walsh and Sean O'Dwyer, scored wins over Castleknock,  Clontarf,   Fitzwilliam,  and Carrickmines  and were only beaten by the Sandycove international pair.  Terry Donaghue kept the Sutton flag flying by stepping down to the 75s , while Tom Dwyer and Jim O'Neill  were our 70s pair.  Sandycove clinched the championship title”

Super Seniors Intro to Padel at SLTC for members 65yrs & Older

Our Super Seniors Intro to Padel FREE classes for members 65 years and older are underway funded by Age & Opportunity’s National Grant Scheme.  

3 places available in the last class of this series at 11.15am Thursday 6 June

Coach Peter Cranny will provide racquets and balls.

Due to the demand we ask that players sign up to just one FREE lesson per week to allow as many members as possible to avail of this chance to learn the basics of Padel.

DLTC Summer League Round Up

Week 3 of summer league and due to a new format & match schedule introduced by DLTC for Premier & Class 1, our Mens First team in Class 1 have completed their 2024 campaign and secured their place in Class 1 for next year.  Our Ladies Premier Team have one match remaining in the group stage next week.  The Premier & Class 1 finals take place earlier this year on 9 June.

Our Mens and Ladies teams competing in Classes 2 - 7 have two remaining matches over the next two weeks in the group stages.  We have Ladies and Mens teams in contention to reach the playoff stages and we wish all team Captains and players the best of luck in their matches over the next two weeks.

Tennis Camps

Our tennis camps are now live on smartclubcloud.com The Camps are open to members and non members aged 5 to 12. All levels can join. Non members can try tennis for the week and see if they like it. 

Camps run 9am - 1pm each day and are led by our professional coaches from Sutton LTC.

Junior Summer Programme 2024

Ciaran McCarthy is our Junior Steward for the summer and the programme will start on 24th June and will run every afternoon for the whole Summer

Summer Training for Tournament level players

We will also be offering training for players who are competing in Junior opens this summer. 

Our Pre East of Ireland Camp is now open to sign up on www.smartclubcloud.com

It runs from July 8th - 12th. 2pm - 5pm each day. You will need to add you name to the waiting list for camp and then Rob will add you if you are of the appropriate level. Players in camp must be competing in the East of Ireland or in similar events outside the club

O80 Super Masters team event

A Super Masters team event for O80yrs Men took place in Glenageary LTC last week and Sutton LTC were represented by Terry Donaghue, Sean O Dwyer and Joe Walsh

This is event was part of a series of events for Veterans organised by Michael Butler, Sandycove LTC

Junior Opens

Ciaran McKenna made another final, this time in Mullingar at the Tour 500 event. Ciaran knocked out the top seed in the but lost to Aniket Roy in the final. Jennifer O’ Connor made the semis of the girls U16s

Senior Tennis Calendar 2024

We have some changes to our senior competition calendar this year. All your favorite comps are still there but note the dates now of the handicaps and the masters. In particular we are bringing the masters events into the warmer part of the year so all that great tennis will be played in warm sunshine now!

Update your Tournament Software Account

As our busy tennis calendar gets underway we are asking players and parents/guardians of our junior players  to log into their ti.tournament software accounts and check that all details ie Club, email address and mobile numbers are up-to-date.

In particular, please ensure that your mobile number is in the mobile number field in your account.  This will ensure that you will receive text updates during tournaments when necessary.

To change Club on your account please email info@tennisireland.ie to request a change to Sutton LTC from your previous club

Ladies Wednesday Morning Time Tennis 

Ladies Time Tennis resumes next Wednesday 10th April and is moving back to its original time of 10am -12noon

All ladies welcome and we hope to see lots of new faces, especially new members during February

Please see the hooks now provided for our clay court drag mats. Please leave them on the hooks after use to protect the bristles. 

If any member notices any issues with the courts ie broken net bands etc please report the fault to the office and it will be repaired.

The Squash courts have undergone essential maintenance this week including floor sanding to remove black marks.

These marks are made in 2 ways. BLACK SOLED SHOES and OLD GRIPS

[1] Black Soled Shoes are not allowed on the Squash Courts under any circumstances. This includes NON MARKING SOLES. Please never wear shoes with Black Soles on the courts. This rule is for Seniors and Juniors.

[2] Rackets with old grips especially Black Grips will shed and fall on the floor and it is impossible to wash these marks off and sanding is required. If you are unsure drop into Suzanne or Eoin and they will advise you.

Friday was a wonderful day of Squash for Sutton with finals played U/11 - U/19 Boys and Girls. We had lots of incredible matches going right down to the bone.
