Senior Spring Championships Finals

The Captain’s Serve-In and Cocktail Night takes place this evening alongside our first night of Senior Spring Championship Finals.

Finals from 6.30pm. The Captains Serve-in will be at 8.15 approx.  

Come along and welcome Susan and Conor as our 2024 Captains, watch competitive tennis and enjoy the cocktails prepared especially for the Spring Champs.

Junior Opens

Well done to James McGoldrick who won the U16 Tour 200 in Becket Park on Sunday. Conor Reamsbottom was runner up in u12 Tour 100 held in Sutton

Junior Tennis Coaching Programme 

A new term of Junior coaching will started this week April 15th. This is a 9 week term that runs until the week of June 10th. There is one extra Monday class on June 17th. Monday Classes are an 8 week term as we will have no coaching the on the May and June bank holidays. 

All players in last term have a guaranteed space in same class, day and time as in new term. Just add your son/daughter to waiting list and then Rob will add you into the class. Some classes where demand isn’t as high can just be signed up for without waiting list.

New players are always welcome but we can’t guarantee a spot in a class that’s full. There is classes during the week of similar levels so there will be a space. Contact Rob if any questions. 087 9535 193

Junior League

More wins over the weekend with our Girls u12 2nds starting with a win after some nail biting champ tie breaks! Our u15 boys have topped their group and move on to the play offs. Our boys u12 1sts are in a strong position with one group game left to play.

Round Robins

New Round Robins for seniors are now posted on our new site clubmanager365.com. You can access your group along with contact details for your opponents. Matches to be completed by April 21st.

Congratulations to Patricia Dwyer who has been selected to play in the Super Senior Interprovincials in Lansdowne LTC in May.   

Senior Tennis Calendar 2024

We have some changes to our senior competition calendar this year. All your favorite comps are still there but note the dates now of the handicaps and the masters. In particular we are bringing the masters events into the warmer part of the year so all that great tennis will be played in warm sunshine now!

Update your Tournament Software Account

As our busy tennis calendar gets underway we are asking players and parents/guardians of our junior players  to log into their ti.tournament software accounts and check that all details ie Club, email address and mobile numbers are up-to-date.

In particular, please ensure that your mobile number is in the mobile number field in your account.  This will ensure that you will receive text updates during tournaments when necessary.

To change Club on your account please email info@tennisireland.ie to request a change to Sutton LTC from your previous club

Ladies Wednesday Morning Time Tennis 

Ladies Time Tennis resumes next Wednesday 10th April and is moving back to its original time of 10am -12noon

All ladies welcome and we hope to see lots of new faces, especially new members during February

Please see the hooks now provided for our clay court drag mats. Please leave them on the hooks after use to protect the bristles. 

If any member notices any issues with the courts ie broken net bands etc please report the fault to the office and it will be repaired.

Breanne has joined the Irish Squash Team in Romania for the European Team Championships Division 3

Ireland are in POOL A with Ukraine and Luxemburg. They won their first match last night 2/1 against Ukraine.

CANNON KIRK GILLENMARKETS IRISH SQUASH OPEN 2024

Just 2 weeks left until our premiere event of the season, the Cannon Kirk GillenMarkets Irish Open 2024.

This year’s event is set to be a stellar occasion with 5 Irish players among some of the best Squash players around the world.

Our multiple Irish senior champion, Breanne Flynn takes to the main court on a wildcard entry, where she takes on Wales’s Lowri Roberts in round 1.

On the men’s side, Irish no.1 and reigning national champion Sam Buckley headlines the Irish entries.

With England’s duo Nick Wall (World no. 34) and George Parker (World No. 40) headlining the men’s section, Sam has a huge task on his hands, but Sam can certainly feel confident following his straight games victory over the then world no. 64 Adreen Idrakie in December.

AMAZING SUCCESS FOR LEINSTER AT INTERPROS

We are delighted to announce that Leinster won 6 of the 7 age groups in the Irish Squash Junior Inter Provincials held in Sutton yesterday.

The club welcomed approximately 150 juniors and their coaches, parents and managers. Under the incredible organisation of Eoin Ryan and Kate Yeomans with the help of lots of parents we had an incredible day.

Gym Classes

A reminder to all members that they should cancel their space in gym classes if they are not attending and to do so in a timely manner. Going forward there will be a sign in process at the beginning of classes to ensure members are respecting the booking system and the process in place.
