Senior Spring Championships 2024

Draws and schedule are now live. Matches will begin Friday night and all finals will be played Thursday April 18th and Friday April 19th. Players need to be available on these nights if in a final.

Junior Opens

Loads of Juniors competed over the Easter break. Ciaran McKenna reached the Quarter finals of the boys U16 singles at the National Tour event in Templeogue. Ciaran has had a good start to the year and isn’t far of the top 10 now. Emma Hickey reached the semis in the Girls u14 doubles at Templeogue. Jacques McHugh picked up the singles title at the Tour 100 event held in Sutton last Sunday. Jacques went through the draw without dropping a game. 

Junior Tennis Coaching Programme 

A new term of Junior coaching will start the week of April 15th. This is a 9 week term that runs until the week of June 10th. There is one extra Monday class on June 17th. Monday Classes are an 8 week term as we will have no coaching the on the May and June bank holidays. 

All players in last term have a guaranteed space in same class, day and time as in new term. Just add your son/daughter to waiting list and then Rob will add you into the class. Some classes where demand isn’t as high can just be signed up for without waiting list.

New players are always welcome but we can’t guarantee a spot in a class that’s full. There is classes during the week of similar levels so there will be a space. Contact Rob if any questions. 087 9535 193

Stars and Stripes

The u12 stars and stripes semis and finals were postponed last week and will now be played in Castleknock this Saturday. Good luck to the 12 Sutton kids who will be taking part

Junior League

Great day last Sunday with every Sutton team winning their match. The boys u12s, Boys U15s and Mixed U15 1sts all top their groups. Plenty of matches still to go yet though

Round Robins

New Round Robins for seniors are now posted on our new site clubmanager365.com. You can access your group along with contact details for your opponents. Matches to be completed by April 21st.

Super Senior Interprovincials

Congratulations to Corry de Jongh who has been selected to play in the Super Senior Interprovincials in Lansdowne LTC in May.   

Senior Tennis Calendar 2024

We have some changes to our senior competition calendar this year. All your favorite comps are still there but note the dates now of the handicaps and the masters. In particular we are bringing the masters events into the warmer part of the year so all that great tennis will be played in warm sunshine now!

Senior Open  August 17th - 24th

Senior Club Champs Aug 31st - September 14th

Update your Tournament Software Account

As our busy tennis calendar gets underway we are asking players and parents/guardians of our junior players  to log into their ti.tournament software accounts and check that all details ie Club, email address and mobile numbers are up-to-date.

In particular, please ensure that your mobile number is in the mobile number field in your account.  This will ensure that you will receive text updates during tournaments when necessary.

To change Club on your account please email info@tennisireland.ie to request a change to Sutton LTC from your previous club

Ladies Wednesday Morning Time Tennis  

Ladies Time Tennis resumes next Wednesday 10th April and is moving back to its original time of 10am -12noon

All ladies welcome and we hope to see lots of new faces, especially new members during February

Courts & equipment on court

Please see the hooks now provided for our clay court drag mats. Please leave them on the hooks after use to protect the bristles. 

If any member notices any issues with the courts i.e. broken net bands etc please report the fault to the office and it will be repaired.

LEINSTER SQUASH CUP FINALS THIS TONIGHT

Ivy Hadden Trophy Womens Premier, Mens Club Championships Mens Premier, Mens Division 3 and Division 6 have reached the Cup Finals. They will take place in Fitzwilliam LTC tonight, 11^th April starting 6pm.

Full details will be available soon. This is a 4 Day camps. It is a great way to prepare for the coming season, improve your fitness, technical skills, match play. dates as follows
