Senior Opens

Well done to Aisling O’Connor and Tanya Murtagh who were both in Finals action at the Tour 500 in Shankhill. Aisling made both the singles and doubles final. Aisling lost to top seed Sinead Lohan in the singles. In the doubles Aisling teamed up with partner Juliana Carton to play Tanya and her partner Caragh Courtney. In the end Aisling and Juliana came out on top after a good battle. You can watch the matches here!

World University Tennis Games

Aisling O’ Connor is representing Ireland in Paris against the best college players from all around the world. The Irish team consists of 6 players. We will keep you updated with Aislings progress

Winter League sign up

Thanks to everyone who responded. We have entered 7 Ladies teams and 6 men's teams for Winter League 2024.

Players should be available for 4 out of 5 round robin matches. Players not named on a team will be registered as a substitute.

Teams are selected in order of merit and SLTC have teams from Class 1 - Class 7 in both men's & ladies winter league.

Juniors turning 15 in 2024 are now eligible for our Senior teams

Junior Tennis Coaching Programme 

Junior Coaching breaks for Xmas on Dec 16th. Class resume on January 8th. This is still the same term. A new term will start on January 29th.

Courts & equipment on court

Please see the hooks now provided for our clay court drag mats. Please leave them on the hooks after use to protect the bristles. 

If any member notices any issues with the courts ie broken net bands etc please report the fault to the office and it will be repaired.

Ladies Wednesday Morning Time Tennis

Ladies Time Tennis will be taking a break for August and will resume in September.

New Irish Squash Policy on playing squash and understanding the rules:

To enhance player safety and enjoyment it is Irish Squash policy to recommend to all squash players that they have a sufficient level of understanding of the Rules of Squash that they would achieve a WSO Level 0 qualification. For those who play competitively it is recommended that they achieve a Level 1 WSO qualification.

Can we ask all members to ensure they are wearing footwear in the gym. There is a massive increase in members not wearing shoes or footwear in the gym. For health and safety reasons we are asking members to respect this.
