Ladies 1st team reach Class 1 Finals of Senior League

Following their great win over Carrickmines 1 last Sunday our Ladies O.35 Class 1 team will play Mount Pleasant 1 in the DLTC Senior League finals in Clontarf LTC at 12 noon next Sunday 22nd October.

Courts & equipment on court

Please see the hooks now provided for our clay court drag mats. Please leave them on the hooks after use to protect the bristles. 

If any member notices any issues with the courts i.e. broken net bands etc please report the fault to the office and it will be repaired.

LEINSTER SQUASH LEAGUE – UPDATE

The Men's League Fixtures are now available on SportyHQ. Sutton have entered a Men's and Ladies Premier, Ladies Division 1, Men's Division 2 and Men's Division 6.

Matches started with one win so far and we will let you know day and time as they go. We invite all members to come along and support our teams on their return to League Squash.

New Irish Squash Policy on playing squash and understanding the rules:

To enhance player safety and enjoyment it is Irish Squash policy to recommend to all squash players that they have a sufficient level of understanding of the Rules of Squash that they would achieve a WSO Level 0 qualification. For those who play competitively it is recommended that they achieve a Level 1 WSO qualification.

3 TITLES IN ULSTER

7 Sutton Juniors reached the finals of the Ulster Junior Open Irish Squash Tour Event last weekend in Belfast.

3 of our Juniors took the titles of their sections.

Congratulations to Advik Ajay who won the Boys U/15 event beating the Irish Squash No:1 Adam Power 19/17 in the fifth game. What a result! Well done Advik.

Conal Jackson won the Boys U/17 beating fellow Sutton player Tyler Dromgoole (seeded No:7) who fought his way to the final with wins over the No:2 Seed Frank O’Flynn and No:3 seed Ismail Wahed.

Well Done Conal, first 2 Irish Tour Events secured.

Rebecca Jackson played Sutton’s Lucy Walsh and once again was brought to the brink in a very tight Humbinger Final. Well Done Rebecca.

Zoe Yeomans finished in second place to Shriya Drawid in a 5 setter U/17 Girls final.

Ruth Wallace No:6 seed came second to Rebecca Day No:1 seed in the Girls U/13 Final. Lots of potential there. Keep up the good work Ruth.

Ella Walsh finished in 2^nd place in the Girls U/19.

Tyler Dromgoole was runner-up in Boys U/17.

Harry Yeomans, Christian Dromgoole, Tristan Snodgrass, Olivia Ryan & Zoë Sheridan all came 3^rd

This is a great event held in Sutton LTC with a small number of matches in Alsaa. Players from all over the world enter this tournament and you can enjoy some great squash at all levels from U/13 to U/19 Boys and Girls.

The IACT IIRISH SQUASH JUNIOR OPEN 2023 is on from November 17th - 19th in Sutton LTC and Aer Lingus SC. This is an ESF Grand Prix tournament and a major event on the European Junior tour.  Last year we had a super event with players from nearly 20 countries participating.

We  look forward to another great event this year.

Body Transformation

After another successful body transformation block which comes to an end next week. We will be running our final block of the year starting on Monday 6th November for 6 weeks!

Sessions will be on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays @7am & @11am.

Gym Spot Checks For Access Cards & Non- Members

All members of SLTC should have swipe cards and we will be doing spot checks at the gym reception to ensure all gym users are bringing their card with them.

There will be spot checks in the gym to ensure there is no unauthorised non members in the gym so please respect the club rules when it comes to non members in the gym. No members should bring in a non member to the gym without authorisation from either the gym manager or the club manager.
