Membership Fees
As you are aware, the Club survives on membership fees being paid in full and on time, however, subs are well overdue at this stage for some people. Members who have not yet paid please contact the office to settle your account. If you do not wish to renew, please confirm with the office as we have a waiting list of members that will eagerly take the place.
Accessible Parking
Please be aware of parking in the accessible spots, especially the hatched area alongside, this is to allow for ease of access to and from vehicles.

Tennis
Sutton LTC East of Ireland Junior Open sponsored by MSL Park Motors
The finals of the East of Ireland took place last Saturday with some fantastic tennis on show
This year marked the final year that Roma Hegarty and Odette O'Dea will be involved. Roma and Odette were both instrumental in returning our junior open to the Irish junior calendar and back to Sutton LTC in 2012. A huge thank you from all of us in the club for the incredible dedication to our junior open from both over the past 11 years.
Despite some challenging weather, all juniors played incredibly well and to very high standards. Thank you to all of the spotters who gave up their time this week, as well as tram chowder for supplying delicious food and to our sponsor of the tournament msl park motors Mercedes Benz
Congratulations to Eoin Quinn, Jennifer O’Connor, Antonia Lydon, Emma Hickey, Harry Weld-Moore, Tim Lavin and Georgia L’Estrange for representing our club so well in the finals. A big well done to all Sutton juniors for participating this year! See you next year

Huge thanks to Tour coach Dave O' Hare for a great doubles clinic last Friday night. All who attended went away with some very valuable insights.
Dave is the coach of current world number 6 players Joe Salisbury and Rajeev Ram. Dave has been in their corner for some of the teams biggest achievements.

This is T1000 Tennis Ireland licenced tournament and has events for all levels from Championship Class 1 to Class 7 & non league with cash prizes in all events

Generation Game - Sunday 13th August
We begin our Junior Club Championship week with the popular Generation Game on Sunday 13th August from 2pm-4pm.
What is the Generation Game? A junior social tennis event where a junior member of SLTC plays with an adult
All age groups and abilities catered for. Great fun afternoon for all the juniors and adults alike. Any adult over 18 can play with a junior - just add the name of the partner when entering the junior member.
Adult player does not have to be a member of SLTC but the Child playing MUST be a member.
BBQ, treats and prizes at the end of the afternoon

DLTC O.65yrs Men's senior league starts on Thursday 7th September .and the round robin matches will be played over 5 weeks.
This is a doubles league with each team consisting of 3 men's doubles pairings.
Matches are played either At Home in Sutton LTC at 11am on Thursdays or away in other competing clubs.
Players should be aged 65yrs or older by 31 December 2023 to play in this league
If you are interested in playing in this league email your availability to tennis@suttonltc.com by Friday 7th August.
Summer Programme
Our summer programme has been buzzing all week with kids aged 5 to 15 all having the craic on court and playing loads of tennis. More to come next week so make sure to get down!
Ciaran McCarthy is our junior steward this summer and he'll be getting everything going on the courts. We also have a junior WhatsApp group where we send out info about what's going on.

Keep your ball past the opponents service line. Start playing with partner down the middle then crosscourt, then try hit to move each other a lot and still keep the depth

SENIOR SQUASH ROUND ROBINS - AUGUST

SQUASH BALL MACHINE
Have you tried the Squash Ball Machine? It is a great way to practice your shots and better your game. Talk to Eoin Ryan for details on how to register.
SATURDAY SOCIAL SQUASH
Open to all members, drop down from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. to hit with others every Saturday. Meet new people to play Squash.
CONSIDERING SENIOR SQUASH LEAGUE
Each year we enter Senior Squash League Teams in the Leinster Squash Leagues Competition. Sutton pride themselves in the fact that we have committed and strong league teams and featured for many years in the winning circle.
Covid played a part in a fall off but we hope to return to our strength and plan to enter teams in the League for September/October.
Men's Teams are made up of 5 players and Ladies 4 players. It is a great opportunity to compete as a team in such an individual sport. Matches are Home and Away throughout Leinster and run until approximately March/April and it is followed by Cup Competition, which is a knockout system.
It is important to get commitments from players who will make themselves available for the matches each week both home and away. There are many divisions of different standards from Premier to Division 6.
I will be sending out an email soon to gauge interest and I hope we get lots. Keep an eye out and if you have any questions drop in and chat to me.

Gym
Next Weeks Classes
Due to Annual Leave there will be limited classes available in the gym next week. Please keep an eye on the booking system (my courts) and make sure to book your class. For the classes that are going ahead, we have increased capacity to help with this.
Personal Training
We are delighted to announce that we are now offering personal training sessions at a cheaper rate. x1 session is now €35 per session and x8 sessions is priced at €250 per session.
