Senior Spring Championships Finals

The finals of our 2023 Spring Championships were played last week over two nights, 

Thursday 30th & Friday 31st March and we would like thank Vice-Captain Patrick Nolan who ran the tournament and scheduled all the matches.

Well done to our two Championship winners William Kell and Barbara Reamsbottom. Eoin Quinn and Sally Flynn were the runners up.

Sincere thanks to all the members who entered the Championships, the supporters who came to watch the players and of course the Voluntary Bar Staff, under the stewardship of Colm O Hare, who staffed the bar.

Senior Round Robins

New Round Robins going up next week. Players who played no matches will be taken out. New players of all levels can join. Text Rob Turpin if you wish to join or played no matches and wish to stay in. All player who played a match will automatically stay in. Let Rob know if you are withdrawing this phase.

Junior ITFs

A number of Sutton players competed in the international event in DCU this week. William Kell came through 3 tough qualifying matches but unfortunately lost a tough 1st round main draw game. Lauren Wade and Georgia L’estrange both played the main draw while Eoin Quinn played the qualifiers.

April Junior Coaching Term

Classes are now on smartclubcloud.com. Players who were in February term will have 1st preference in April term in the class they were already in

How to sign up for Monday to Friday classes

1. Add your child's name to waiting list for same class as they were in before. Add your child's name by Tuesday April 11th. You can not directly sign up to a class.
2. We will then add your child to class. 
3. You will then receive a payment link through e mail.
4. Complete payment to confirm space in class

New Players or Players looking to switch class

1. Add your child's name to class they wish to join
2. If space becomes available you will be added

We can’t guarantee new players a spot in their 1st choice of class but will offer an alternative.

Junior Opens

Emma Hickey continued her good start to the year reaching the final of the Tour 500 event at the South of Ireland Tennis Championships in Limerick Lawn Tennis Club. Emma lost a tight final to Sophia Kuzmina.

Plenty of juniors in action this week in Brookfield, Lisburn and Templeogue.

Junior League

Our Boys 2nds remain unbeaten after a win away to Naas last sunday. Our stars and stripes teams continue their campaign with new players every week getting the chance to play for the club for the first time.

Easter Camp

Easter tennis camp for ages 6 to 12 no open online at smartclubcloud.com. The camp is open to all levels and will run from Tuesday April 11th to Friday April 14th. The camp runs from 10am to 2pm.

We are keeping 10 spaces for any non member juniors who would like to try out tennis. For non members contact Andrea in the office to sign up. No experience necessary and rackets provided.

Ladies Wednesday Morning Time Tennis

This social tennis takes place every wednesday morning at 10am and caters for all level of player.  All existing members and new members  welcome.

Are you a new member, new to tennis, returning to tennis or want to enjoy organised games  - this is the ideal place to take up your racquet and meet other members of SLTC

Our volunteer member, Carmel Gillespie, is on hand every Wednesday to organise the tennis from 10am-12pm.   Tennis is followed by tea/coffee and all are welcome.

 Sign up with Carmel in the Lounge at 9.50am every Wednesday.

Understanding your own game style is a great way to understand what your best tactics should be to win a match. A fun exercise is to make notes of what you feel your game style is and then ask someone you play regularly to tell you what they feel your game style is……

Then see if they match!! How your opponent sees you is a very useful thing to understand

ESF EUROPEAN MIXED TEAM U19 SQUASH CHAMPIONSHIPS 2023

Dylan Represents Ireland

The Irish Squash U/19 Team are in Switzerland to represent Ireland at the European Team Championships. Dylan plays at No:1 on the team and matches begin on Thursday with Ireland taking on Belgium.
