Senior Team Tennis Finals Friday 13th January

Great night in the club last Friday. Plenty of tennis and then a good night in the bar after. Thanks to everyone who played we will be running again later this year

Junior Development Coaching

The next term of Junior Coaching begins the week of January 30th. The term runs until the week of March 27th. 

No coaching on February 6th for bank holiday. Monday classes prices have been adjusted to 7 weeks. All other classes are 8 week terms.

No coaching the week of February 13th with mid term break. We will have events for kids that week.

Players in current term have 1st preference on their spot in our February 2023 term 

How to Sign up for February 2023 Term

Monday to Friday 1 hr classes

1. Find your usual class and time but now marked "February 2023". For example "Red Ball Monday 2pm - February 2023"

2. Add your child's name to the waiting list. Please do this by Thursday the 19th of January.  You will not be automatically added to class. I will add you this week after confirming your child already had a space in that class. This is the only way to sign up for the classes. Make sure to add to correct class marked "February 2023"

3. Once your child is added to the class you will receive an email with a link to pay. Please then complete payment to confirm your child's place.  

If you are not taking up your place in the new term please let me know as soon as possible so we can offer the spot to new players who are waiting to join. 

Saturday Matchplay

Our Saturday matchplay for girls at 10am, 11am and 12pm along with our Boys matchplay at 1pm will be open for sign up from January 17th. As we have more spaces in these sessions we do not use the waiting list. To sign up just add the class to your basket and complete payment to confirm the place. 

Adult Coaching 

A new term of our Adult classes will start the week of January 16th. The classes are available now on smartclubcloud.com. The classes are first come first served

*Tuesday classes will start now on Jan 24th due to frozen courts on the 17th. Sign up still open

Ladies Wednesday Morning Time Tennis

This social tennis takes place every wednesday morning at 10am and caters for all level of player.  New members are especially welcome.  

Our volunteer member, Carmel Gillespie, is on hand every wednesday to organise the tennis from 10am-12pm.   Tennis is followed by tea/coffee and all are welcome.

 SIgn up with Carmel in the Lounge at 9.50am every Wednesday.

Outdoor court conditions during winter weather

During the cold weather players are reminded to exercise caution on the outdoor courts

Our courts can be affected by frost, ice and snow during winter months.

Players must satisfy themselves that they are happy to play on affected courts before proceeding with their game.

SUTTONS PSA PLAYERS ARE ON THE MOVE 

3 Top Sutton Squash players are taking part in PSA Events this weekend.  

Oisin Logan and Gavin L’Estrange are heading to The University of Warwick PSA Satellite 2023 in Coventry to play their latest Tournament. Unfortunately there is no link to the draws but we will keep you updated.  

Sam Buckley will travel to the Nederlands to play in The Squash Life PSA Tour Hillegom. Sam seeded No:2 will take on Matt Gregory from England in his first round.

JUNIOR SQUASH 

CZECH JUNIOR OPEN SUPER SERIES 

7 Sutton players have travelled to the Czech junior open in Prague this weekend. It is an amazing event that has gotten its highest entry ever this year. The Sutton contingent are Conal Jackson U17, Advik Ajay, Christian Dromgoole, Tyler Dromgoole, Zoe Yeomans U15, Samuel Hann U13 and Harry Yeomans U11. Harry is also getting to play in the u 13 draw so he will have a busy weekend, tomorrow he starts with a game at 9 am and the next at 9:40. The tournament organizers are stellar at ensuring the juniors get as many matches as possible.

LEINSTER SQUASH JUNIOR CLOSED 2023 RESULTS 

Sutton hosted this 2023 Event and we were delighted with the entry this year. We had a total of 69 players from Boys and Girls U/11 to U/19. There were 18 Boys U/13 which is very promising. 

The standard of Squash was amazing and the weekend went off so smoothly with the help of Kate Yeomans and the parents who volunteered to referee and run the desk 

The Leinster Closed determines team selection for Leinster Squash's representation at the Irish Squash Junior Interprovincials which is to be held in Ulster this season. We look forward to announcing the teams in the near future.

SPORTY HQ - TOURNAMENT SOFTWARE 

Irish Squash are rolling out a new Tournament Software system for all events. Some of you might already be familiar with it.  

It is being used by Mt Pleasant for the Mt Pleasant Junior Open in November. If you plan to take part in any events including ONE DAY Tournaments you should look at it to familiarise yourself with the website.
