Changing Rooms Upgrade - Works commencing Monday 21 November
Dear members,
We would like to advise you that the works on Ladies and Gents changing rooms have been postponed. The new commencement date is Monday 21 November.
We will keep you updated closer to the date. -
Tennis
Masters 2022 & Autumn Events
The deadline for all first round matches was 6th November. If you have played a match and not recorded the score on the noticeboard please do so. Or text Orna 086 8636824 with match result and full score.
This will avoid delays as results can be updated online quickly and players waiting for opponents won’t be held up.
It is important that the following deadlines are observed as the finals take place on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th November.
Round deadlines: 1st round to be played by 6th Nov
Quarter-finals to be played by 14th Nov
Semi-finals to be played by 23 Nov
Final's Saturday 26th November - some finals will be played on Friday 25th November if required by the Tennis Committee for scheduling purposes
Reminder that matches may not be played in the Airhall
Match format:
Handicap Events:
Best of full 3 sets. No tie-breaks and win a set by 2 games
If you need help working out your handicap contact Orna 0868636824
All other events:
Best of 3 sets..
Play a 10 point Championship tie-break instead of a 3rd set (win by 2 points)
If 6 games all in 1st or 2nd set play a 7 point tie-break (win by 2 points)

Final's Saturday 26th November - some finals will be played on Friday 25th November if required by the Tennis Committee for scheduling purposes
Junior League - U18 Girls reach DLTC Semi-Finals
Congratulations to our U18 Girls team who beat Celbridge last Sunday 6th November to progress to the semi-final stage of the 2023 DLTC Junior League.
The semi-final is against Shankill 1 in Shankill LTC. Time TBC by DLTC
As always supporters are welcome and much appreciated by the players.
Dublin Lawn Tennis Council (DLTC) Mens & Ladies Winter League 2023
This is a senior inter-club doubles league for players aged 14yrs & older on 1 January 2023 (League Standard)
Dates for the 5 Round Robin matches
Sundays 22 Jan, 29 Jan, 5 Feb, 12 Feb, 19 Feb
Mens Teams play on Sunday Mornings at 11 am & 9.30am
Ladies teams play on Sunday afternoons at 2pm & 3.30pm
Matches are played in Sutton LTC and away in participating clubs throughout Dublin Wicklow and Meath. Players signing up for this league should be prepared to play both home and away matches.
We ask that players are available for 4 out of the 5 round robin matches. Fielding the selected partnerships on a team is important for team morale and team performance.
If you cannot play all the round robin matches please include the dates you can play which will help with team selection and selection of subs.
Players interested in being considered for selection for this league can email tennis@suttonltc.com with their availability for the above dates by Friday 18 November
The number of teams entered will depend on the response from players
Senior Team Tennis
Senior Team Tennis makes it's return since pre covid times. The event in played over the next month with our finals day on December 10th. This is a singles event where players play other players of similar level but as part of a team. Every game won is a point for your team.
Matches are just best of 11 games and you will play 5 or 6 matches in total.

Time Tennis
Ladies Tennis takes place every Wednesday morning at 10am.
New members and beginners are especially welcome. A perfect opportunity to come to the club and play some social tennis and get to know other members.
Check in up in the Lounge at 9.50am where Carmel Gillespie, our fantastic volunteer who runs the Time Tennis, will be delighted to welcome you and organise the games of tennis.
Tennis takes place from 10am-12 noon followed by a cup of tea/coffee. Cost is €2

Best of luck to our star Women's player, Breanne Flynn, this weekend at the 3K Open Feminin du Jeu de Paume 2022 in Paris!!
Breanne is currently ranked #112 in the world rankings and enters the tournament as the #2 seed. Breanne will play Catarina Nunes (POR) in the first round tomorrow, November 11th, at 7pm Irish time.

CONNECT ELECTRONICS PSA CHALLENGER RESULTS
WHAT A GREAT EVENT
Sutton were delighted to wrap up the Connect Electronic PSA Event with a Sunday of amazing matches.
Conor Moran clinched the Mens Final against Sam Buckley in a thrilling 3/2 match.
David Ryan took 5th position in a beating Paul Broadberry (Surrey) in a fast paced 3/1 match.
Fiona Power (Galway) beat Roisin O'Shea (Galway) in the women's final with Aimee McConnell from Ulster beating Maria Protsepova from Mt Pleasant for 3rd place.

Gym
Body Transformation
Just a reminder for members, our body transformation block will run from now until the 16th of December. The large room in the gym will be out of use during the times of body transformation which are: Monday, Wednesday & Friday @7am-8am & @6:30pm-7:30pm.
Classes
We have added an 11am class on Tuesday & Thursdays to our timetable to cater for the large availability list. This is a HIIT 30 class.
