Burlington Senior Open
The Sutton LTC Senior Open sponsored by Burlington Engineering got underway last Saturday 20th August and continues until Saturday 27th August
With 338 players taking part in the tournament, members have been treated to top quality matches across all draws from Championship to Class 7
All quarter-finals and semi-finals will be played on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th August with finals taking place on Saturday afternoon, 27th August.
Matches start at 6pm on Thursday and Friday with last matches going on court at 9pm.
Best of luck to our own Sutton players who are still in contention and they would welcome your support over the next two nights.
Our refurbished bar, staffed by our voluntary bar staff, is open each evening and Tram Chowder is on site to provide tea/coffee and refreshments.

What a week we had for our Junior Championships 2022. Nearly 120 kids played non stop tennis all week. Huge thanks to our sponsors MyBod Fitness and Physiotherapy for sponsoring the week meaning the kids got kitted out in cool t shirts. Thanks also to Collier Butchers for sponsoring the BBQ.
A big thanks to Barbara Reamsbottom, Orna and Rob for all the work organizing the week. Thank you to Helen Holden, Lorraine Wormald, Della Kilduff and Susan Hunter for helping with the t shirts, goodie bags, the u8 and u9 events along with recruiting kids to play all week. Irish National Close Seniors & Super Seniors Championships 2022
Congratulations to Pat Dwyer and Tom Barry who competed in the Irish National Close Seniors & Super Seniors Championships in Rushbrooke last weekend.
Pat Dwyer won the Ladies Doubles 65yrs partnered by Anne Fitzpatrick of Nenagh LTC.
It was double success for Tom Barry who won both the Mens Singles 60yrs and the Mens Doubles 60yrs. Tom partnered Mark Milligan from David Lloyd Belfast in the event.

Irish Junior National Championships at Fitzwilliam Lawn Tennis Club
Congrats to Eoin Quinn and William Kell who made the final of the boys u16 doubles. The lads came so close to the title, with the 3rd set going to a championship tie break. Eoin also made a great run in the singles reaching the semi finals losing to the eventual winner. Lucy Bell Hogan was also a finalist in the u18 girls doubles and made semis of the mixed.
In the u14 section Sally Flynn and Charlotte Maguire came so close to the final after missing out 11-9 in the 3rd in the doubles semis. Georgia L’Estrange also had a semi final in the U18 girls doubles losing a really close semi final
There was also quarter finals in the doubles for Jennifer O' Connor, Ciaran McKenna, Matthew Hickey, and Emma Hickey.

Interpros
Well done to Georgia L'estrange and Lucy Bell Hogan who were part of the leinster team that won the u18 interpros this week.
Irish National Close Young Seniors Championships 2022
Best of luck to Heidi Higgins who will be competing in the National Close Young Seniors Championships this weekend which is also being held in Rushbrooke LTC, Cork.
September Junior Coaching
Junior Coaching for our September term has been released on www.smartclubcloud.com.
Class will start the week of September 12th. You will see what spaces are available for each class. Players on the waiting list we will try arrange spaces for as soon as we can.
Senior Coaching
A new term of adult coaching will begin the week of September 19th. We will notify members when they are open for sign up.

SENIOR SQUASH
WORLD SQUASH MASTER CHAMPIONSHIPS
2 Sutton senior squash players have travelled to Wroclaw in Poland to take part in the Masters World Championships.
Ronan Peyton is playing in the Men’s Over 45 and Orla O’Doherty No:2 seed is taking part in the Women’s Over 50 section.
Orla has now reached the Semi Finals after beating her opponents decisively in the first few rounds. Next up is No: 3 seed Slovakia’s Henrieta Lokosova.
Ronan won his first 2 rounds and lost to the No: 2 seed leaving himself in the 9/12 playoffs. He lost against Germany’s Cedris Sadin and will play his last match for 13th Place. Not bad out of 77 entrants.

DRAWS AND RESULTS AVAILABLE HEREPSA PLAYERS HEADS TO FRANCE
Sam played in The PSA Des Hauts De France 2022 which started on 24th August. Seeded No:8, Sam had a BYE in his first round in this $6,000 tournament. He then played Perry Malik and lost a very tight 5 setter 2/3 (11/4, 10/12, 11/6, 6/11, 4/11)
CHECK OUT DRAW HEREThere is a $1,000 Tournament running side by side with the $6,000 and Gavin L’Estrange, Michael Creaven and Alex Smith are taking part. We hope to have a link available also.

U/19 MENS WORLD JUNIOR TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS 2022 - RESULTS
The Irish Squash Team that took part in the U/19 Mens World Squash Championships in Nancy France last week finished in 9th place.
Remarkably Sutton's Dylan Moran was unbeaten throughout the entire event. Very impressive Dylan.
