Junior Club Champs sponsored by MyBod

Our junior champs have been in full swing this week with over 110 kids playing non stop. Huge thanks to our sponsors MyBod Physiotherapy and Fitness for helping us kit out all the kids in t shirts. It’s been a brilliant week so far on Friday we have our finals day. The majority of matches will be late afternoon and evening with a BBQ for all competitors. The bar will be open for anyone coming down to watch

Tennis Europe

Last week saw the club host it’s first international tennis event since the days of our U18 ITF during the East of Ireland over 25 years ago. Thank you to our sponsors Adrian Dunne Pharmacy for supporting the week. The big Sutton successes were Lauren Wade who made the girls singles final and William Kell who reached the semis of the boys event. Thanks to Conor McKenna our tournament director along with all the volunteers through the week.

Junior Opens

Well done to Sally Flynn and Charlotte Maguire who won the Tour 1000 u14 doubles at the Donnybrook Junior Open. Jean Loughney made semis of the same event as did Chloe Miller. Lucy Bell Hogan was a runner up in the 18s singles and winner in the doubles.

Conor Iaccarino was a runner up in the 250 u12 silver draw. Well done all and if we missed anyone let us know.

September Junior Coaching

Junior Coaching for our September term will be released on www.smartclubcloud.com will now be released this coming monday August 22nd.

Class will start the week of September 12th.

Classes will be released on a phased basis and all classes in phase 1 are first come first served. We haven’t held any places since before summer. Phase 2 later next week will include more classes for older ages and Saturday matchplay sessions. Phase 3 will be our tournament squad groups.

SENIOR SQUASH

WORLD SQUASH MASTER CHAMPIONSHIPS

2 Sutton senior squash players are travelling to Wroclaw in Poland to take part in the Masters World Championships starting on Sunday 21st.

Ronan Peyton will play in the Men’s Over 45 and Orla O’Doherty will take part in the Women’s Over 50 section.

SAM BUCKLEY HEADS TO FRANCE

Sam will take part in The PSA Des Hauts De France 2022 starting on 24th August. Sam will play Vini Rodrigues of Brazil in his first round. We will keep you updated.

JUNIOR SQUASH

U/19 MENS WORLD JUNIOR TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS 2022

Following the Individual U/19 Mens Championships the Teams have been graded and the Draws have been done. Young athletes from 36 countries will head to Nancy, France, when this year’s edition of the WSF World Junior Squash Championships gets underway.

Mathes start on Wednesday with Irland in a pool with India, Scotland and South Africa. Ireland will play South Africa first on Wednesday and India in the after noon.

2 of Sutton’s Top Juniors, Denis Gilevskiy and Dylan Moran will head the Team at No:1 and No:2 respectively. They will be joined by Jack O’Flynn and Sean Murphy.
