    Tennis Court resurfacing and rejuvenation

We are delighted to announce that Bradshaw courts are currently being re-surfaced to a fresh Tiger Turf surface. The works will be completed on Sunday evening and courts will be available to play from Monday.

Courts 5&6 will be rejuvenated from Monday and should be finished by Wednesday evening.

As a part of the overall maintenance project we will also address tarmac on the ramp pathway to court 3 as well as filling in potholes in the car park. This will all be completed tomorrow so take extra caution when driving in the car park.

    Coaches Corner

In a new feature in the newsletter we will be adding some simple coaching tips that members can put into practice.

    The Body Serve

    How to use it
    1. A lot of people like to serve to the corners but serving straight at someone can be highly effective. It also means you are aiming for the biggest part of the box and reducing the chance of a missed serve
    2. Use this to "jam" your opponent...if they are not quick enough they will struggle to make a good swing and hopefully give you an error or even a soft short ball
    3. To really make it work you need pace on the serve or slicing it into someone's body is very effective

    How to counter
    1. Fast feet! once you read the serve is coming at you make space for your return.
    2. Look to move to your stronger side..usually forehand for most

    Try it out!

Recently Georgia L'Estrange and Caitlin Burke spent 3 weeks at the academy and here is an account of their time there. If anyone would like more information contact Rob or Soto tennis directly.
