INCREDIBLE WEEKEND OF SQUASH - 2 NATIONAL TITLES

Sutton are delighted to announce that two of our Top Senior Squash players became Irish Squash National Champions.

Breanne Flynn won the Women’s Irish Squash National Championship Title

Sam Buckley won the Men’s Irish Squash National Championship Title

Breanne sailed through her Ladies A Psa Event without dropping a game beating Hannah McGugan from Ulster 3/0 in the final.

Sam Buckley had a more difficult event with tougher matches on route to his final. He then played No: 1 seed and Professional full time Squash Player Sean Conroy in the last match. This was a game of wits and strengths and Sam pulled out all the stops to take the game to a fifth game and clinched it 11/8.

Well done to both players

This is a first for Sutton Squash as we have never won Senior National Titles in the past and a wonderful achievement for Coach Eoin Ryan who has been working with both of these players since they were young juniors

In addition our senior Men took 8 of 9 places in the Playoffs.

LADIES SATURDAY SQUASH – NEW CLASS

Due to interest in these great Ladies beginner / improver Ladies Squash Classes we have added an extra class from 1.00 p.m. – 2.00 p.m.

SPORTY HQ - TOURNAMENT SOFTWARE

Irish Squash are rolling out a new Tournament Software system for all events. Some of you might already be familiar with it.

It is being used by Mt Pleasant for the Mt Pleasant Junior Open in November. If you plan to take part in any events including ONE DAY Tournaments you should look at it to familiarise yourself with the website.

We will let you know more details as we get them.

The Annual General Meeting of Sutton Lawn Tennis Club will be held onMonday 21^st March 2022 at 8:00pm.

The Agenda for this AGM and minutes of the previous AGM held on 29^th March 2021 were emailed separately and are displayed on the Club noticeboard for your information. 

Supplementary AGM papers (the Honorary Secretary’s report, the Honorary Treasurer’s report and 2021 Annual Accounts) will be issued in the coming weeks.

Details of the Annual Subscription rates will also accompany these papers.

We are seeking new nominations for Management Committee and welcome nominations from any member.

• We would like to encourage more participation from women and young adult members of the Club
• Similarly, members with Marketing and Social Media skills are also welcome

If you are interested in becoming part of the Management Committee for 2022 please indicate your interest to the Club Manager, Srdjan Kisic (srdjan.kisic@suttonltc.com) who will assist you with completion of the Nomination Form.
