    Yoga:

We are looking at the possibility of setting up yoga classes here in the gym, first of all we will have to see what demand we have for this class. If anyone is interested please email us gym@suttonltc.com , we will have classes possibly in the morning before 9am or at lunch time. Please let us know your preferred days & times (Keep in mind the times we have just mentioned) and we will go with the availability of the majority.

    Yoga for Tennis & Squash

This class is designed to help balance the body by creating more strength and mobility through all joints and muscles. When you get stronger in your centre and around your joints, the tighter areas in the body can start releasing. This will create more mobility, keep the joints safe and thus avoid potential injuries. Moving through larger ranges of motion with power and control allows more ease and less strain on joints. You will become more aware of your breathing and learn to use it to your benefit. Not only will it bring more endurance, but it may also aid in the mental aspect of your game by sharpening your focus and reign in overthinking. Uniformly developing and balancing the body in focused full body workouts, will leave you invigorated and full of energy instead exhausted. It will help you move and perform more efficiently on the court, as well as in your everyday life! Susanne's background in dance and Pilates has helped develop her dynamic teaching style. She is focused on functionality, creating strength and mobility at the same time. This helps you to better sense and control your body, allowing the mind to observe the physical sensations and connect to them.

    Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Mindfully move through different yoga poses with coordinated breath and awareness, to quiet the mind and help the body settle into the practice. Particular breathing techniques can help soothe anxiety and focus the mind, while the body oxygenates and gets the calming benefits of deep breathing. When you get stronger in your centre and around your joints, the tighter areas in the body can start releasing. This will create more mobility, keep the joints safe and thus avoid potential injuries. Often in Yoga people focus solely on flexibility, forgetting the importance of muscular support and quieting the mind. Susanne's background in dance and Pilates has helped develop her dynamic teaching style. She is focused on functionality, creating strength and mobility at the same time. This helps you to better sense and control your body, allowing the mind to observe the physical sensations and connect to them. As Gary Cook puts is: "First move well, then move often."

    Lighting Fees for 2022

Previously the Management Committee made a commitment for 2021 to absorb the cost of all the lights in through to December 31st and that has been maintained throughout the year. We would just like to remind you that the cost of lights for tennis, squash and snooker has reverted back to their previous standard fees from 1 January 2022.

Please note: you can top up your smart card for the lights using your SmartClubCloud account. If you need any help with setting up that account please contact the office.

Reminder re naming opponents on the Booking System

When booking courts online please name your opponents on the booking. Ideally name opponent/s when the court is being booked.

If you do not know the name of your opposition at the time of booking please amend your booking with the name/names before you play.

If you are booking the court for solo practice please select 'Solo Practice' from the drop down menu.

It is imperative that we have all the names listed on the booking sheets for the purposes of contact tracing.

Reminder to all members using the Airhall

As per booking rules: “A playing player cannot avail of two consecutive time slots even if the time slots are booked by an opponent in singles or separate players from the doubles partnership.” In simple terms, no player should stay in the Airhall for two consecutive hours.

There is a huge demand for indoor tennis in the winter months so we all need to be fair to other members.
