SLTC Irish International Champion, Carmel O’Hare and her team, Gemma O Rourke, Ruth Greenlees and Sophia Dobbs taking part in the 4 Nations Tennis Championships in Glasgow over the weekend.
Ireland won the Ladies o55 group.
England 2nd
Scotland 3rd
Wales 4th
Carmel won all her matches, 3 singles at no.1 and 3 doubles at no.1…. super star

The Irish Team marched into the Semifinals of their European Championships Draw after beating the Netherlands.

Sam Buckley was brought to a five setter by Holland's Rowan Damming but clinched the match 11/6 in the fifth. 12/10, 10/12, 11/6, 4/11, 11/6

Conor Moran beat Samuel Gerrits 11/5, 11/5, 11/9
Sean Conroy took his opponent Thijs Roukens out in 3 also 11/7, 11/9, 11/8

Oisin Logan is playing the last game but as the match is won they will just play best of 3.

Next up Sweden for a pace in the final. Match time Friday 13.00 p.m. (11.00 a.m. Irish Time)

Our award winners from last Monday's AGM. The Flanagan trophy is awarded to the outstanding male player of the year- William Kell. The Scott Trophy is awarded to the League Player of the Year. This year, we had 2 winners; Carmel O'Hare and Nicole O'Kelly Gulmann. The Hegarty trophy is awarded to the outstanding female player of the year - Aisling O’Connor. There was also a special award to Rob Turpin in recognition of being awarded Leinster Tennis Coach of the Year. Also pictured are new captains Susan Hunter and Pat Nolan and our outgoing captains Linda and Ajay. This year's winners of the Volunteer of the Year were Paul Turpin and the late Dermot Quinn for all their hard work in publishing 'My Serve'. Congrats to all.

President Niall Curran presenting Eoin Collins with a copy of Dermot Quinn’s ‘My Serve’.

Eoin is an Honorary life member of the club. As many will remember Eoin is part of the Collins family that all grew up playing tennis in the club. Eoin represented the club in Class 1 league for many years with great success.

Eoin also went on to play Davis Cup for Ireland as well as representing Ireland and the 1988 Olympic Games in Barcelona.

Eoin lives in Houston Texas and was just home for a quick visit at the weekend visiting his father Paddy, so we were delighted to present Eoin with Dermot’s history of the club where Eoin gets several mentions.

Senior Team Tennis wrapped up on Friday with our finals night. 40 players took part over the past month with Spain taking the title in the end over Brazil. France were 3rd, with Belgium taking home the wooden spoon!
Big thanks to Ajay, Gordon and Rob for running the event along with John Burke and Jennifer Kell who captained their teams.

We will be running it again later in the year!
